IT@CA 2021 – Discovering the circular nature of COVID-19

October 21, 2021 @ 6:00 pm (ET)

A conversation between two women at the forefront of the world’s response to this pandemic.

Under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto, the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario Canada (ICCO Canada), in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Toronto, will host the third edition of IT@CA on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 6 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) via Zoom Webinar.

This event will focus on the vision of Circular Health with Dr. Ilaria Capua, renowned Italian virologist, best-known for her efforts promoting open access to genetic information on emerging viruses as part of pre-pandemic preparedness efforts.

Circular Health is a natural expansion of the One Health concept that aims to co–advance the health of humans, animals and plants by exploiting the big data environment.

Ilaria Capua is a leader in the promotion of a healthy environment underlining that there will be no health until every single person realizes that he is part of a much larger system. In her career as a virologist, she dedicated most of her professional life to viral infections of animals that can be transmitted to humans, and that cause poverty and food security issues such as Avian influenza (bird flu).

The one-hour discussion will be moderated by Anna Maria Tremonti, one of Canada’s most trusted journalists and podcasters, and 17-season host of CBC’s ‘The Current’.
